error 50150 in MAX and SignalExpress using WLS-9205

Hi, I have a problem using a WLS-9205 unit:

 

-In MAX and signal express, ERROR 50150 comes up when trying to self-test,  use the test panels (MAX) or aquire data (SignalExpress LE).

 

-Error is (typically) Error50150 occured at self test. Possible reasons: NI Platform Services: The software has entered an unknown state .... etc.

 

-The software and hardware work fine on a different computer that was first used to set up the system, and data can be aquired without any problems

 

-I originally installed software from the bundled DVD (NI-DAQmx 9.0).

 

-I have since fully uninstalled then reinstalled using the same DVD with no success

 

-I have tried upgrading to the latest download DAQmx 9.0.2, with no success.

 

-usually upon loading MAX, one self test can usually be completed succesfully. Any further interaction will bring up error 50150.

Hi,

 

A few options exist for seeing where this issue lies, as you know the device works on another computer system then the hardware itself should be fine and it must be a difference in settings between those machines.

 

 

  1. Do you have any form of security software that could be causing the issue, including a firewall turned on that could be affecting communication to the device?
  2. What other differences are there between the machines, is the other machine running Vista or a different driver version?
  3. If it is an issue with the installation, you could try uninstalling then performing an MSIBlast which will remove all references and folders ready for a fresh installation from here

Hi, I met exactly the same error as yours, error 50150 using WLS-9205.

 

The device worked fine at the beginning until this error jumped out.

 

I would like to ask have you find out the solution and do you know the reason of it?

Hi,

 

I'm afraid to say that I never did find a solution... I actually just installed it as a backup in case my colleague was unable to do the experiments, which were completed before I could solve the problem. 

 

You can see a summary of what I tried in the first post. The software never did work on my computer (i.e. it didn't once work, then become broken).

 

I suspect that I did not fully uninstall (I had done it through 'add/remove programmes'. It took a very long time to eliminate everything, and was ultimately  unsuccessful). I might suggest trying the MSI blast solution mentioned (I did not). 

 

It may also have been a firewall related problem or something to do with anti-virus... I use Sophos, but never looked into it.

Hello Andygdl,

 

I have exactly the same problem with WLS 9219. Same operating system, same service pak and same processor. I uninstalled as well an reloaded the software without success two times. I tried with and without firewall (F-Secure). And blocked windows defender.

On a laptop with XP professional I have no problem, as well on a laptop with Vista basic.

I tried now in two days to overcome the problem and tried to find solution on internet but so far no positive result.

 

Good that you brought this up, because it seems it is software related. I will look for another small computer before wasting more time on this issue.

Dear all,

I have also the same problem with this. I use NI USB DAQ 6216 with NI daqmx 8.6. I worked fine at the beginning but now the same error message keep appearing (error -50150) when I self tested the device. I have tried to uninstalled and reinstalled the fresh daqmx 8.6 but the error keeps appearing till now. I try to other computer running the same OS (windows XP SP3) it works fine. It is not working only in my first laptop. why this is happen?Should I reinstalling the windows?
