error 9: vi version (7.0) is newer than labview version (6.1)

hello -

I am working with a fairly involved application (which I did not write) which uses a PCI-6713 and a PCI-MIO-16E-4 board in the same PC.  One of them was giving me a 5 mV offset out of the DAC0 channel, and in order to use the Self-calibration and Reset buttons in the latest version of MAX, as well as the Diagnostic Utility, I downloaded and installed the newest drivers (DCDNov07.exe).  I made sure to include the Traditional NI-DAQ in the install.  Following the install, when I start my application, I get the error in shown above in the subject line for a whole host of vi's, listed here:

AOConfig
AOWrite
AOTrigger&GateConfig
CounterStop
DelayedPulseGeneratorConfig
AIStart
AIRead
AIRead(ScaledArray)
AIConfig
AIClear
AOStart
CounterStart
ContinuousPulseGeneratorConfig
GenerateDelayedPulse
AOWrite(ScaledArray)
AOClear
AIWaveformScan
AIWaveformScan(Waveform)

On the block diagram which calls these vis, they appear as question marks and labview says they can't be found.  I don't believe they were user-created - I think they are most likely part of some package which has been overwritten or deleted, or hopefully just renamed.  If anyone can tell me what to do to restore the function of these vis, I would really appreciate it.  I have my labview 6.1 disk as well as another disk of instrument drivers.  I wouldn't mind rolling back the installation and losing the diagnostics, as I've determined that my boards are most likely fine.

thanks in advance for any assistance!

Gene

The latest version of DAQmx is not compatible with LabVIEW 6.1. Please see the link below for compatible NI-DAQ versions. It looks like you will have to roll back to NI-DAQ 7.4. Also, this calibration tutorial may also be useful.

Thanks, Chris.  It does appear that I have NI-DAQ 8.6 installed now.  To roll back to 7.4 will it be sufficient to run the 7.4 installer found here: http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/587/lang/en, or will an uninstall of 8.6 also be necessary?

Gene,

The NI-DAQ 7.4 driver will be sufficient. However, you will need to uninstall NI-DAQ 8.6 before installing NI-DAQ 7.4.

Hello,

Error code 9 is the result of incompatible DAQ driver and LabVIEW versions as charted in the linked Knowledge Base.  To fix this error, please uninstall the new DAQ drivers (both DAQmx and Traditional, if present) from the Control Panel.

Please note that you can install the individual driver and not the entire Driver CD.  The newest DAQ driver version that will work with LabVIEW 6.1 is Traditional NI-DAQ 7.4 or the DAQ driver that installed with Labview 6.1 was Traditional NI-DAQ 6.9.2.  You can download either of these drivers online using the Drives and Update page.  You can also reinstall the Device Driver CDs you mentioned, if you do not want to download online.
