In general, the PCI-6024e by itself is not ideal for measuring temperature. You need to add some signal conditioning to properly amplify the signal and attain the best resolution. The other option is to use a 16 bit DAQ board.

Can the PCI-6024e DAQ card be used to measure an LVDT and a load cell input or would signal conditioning be required. If signal conditioning is required, what kind of amplifier would u recommend to drive a lvdt and load cell signal.

You can use the SCXI-1540 to measure LVDT signals. Additionally, you can measure load cells with the SCXI-1520.
