how do i use labview to count pulses on a 6024e counter?

i am using a push pull encoder with output A connected to PFI 3 and output B connected to DIO 5 on my 6024E daq card. how do i use labview to get the counter value and to reset the counter? how do i get the counter to count down when the encoder direction is reversed?

By default, the direction pin is DIO6 for counter 0 and DIO7 for counter 1. You will need to use advanced functions if you want to use other inputs.
