how to use an pressure transducer having current out put to measure current(4-20mA)

hi,
if somebody can please help me in the following regard.
i m usig a 4-20mA current output pressure transducer can i know how to measure the current output, since there are only 2 wires which are there as supply to the transmitter, iam using danfoss MBS 3000( with current output).
and secondly, how to place the hunt resistance and what value it should be having?
please help.
regards,

Hi Asmie,

I consider this a good question and let me address it with some assumptions.
There are many two wire current sensors out there, yours I think is this datasheet. As you can see in page two, you need to supply voltage to this sensor (9-32 Vdc) so it can generate the current. Then, you can use a constant resistor in series to measure the voltage drop on it with any voltage analog input module. You can also connect it to SCC-CI20 and configure that module directly in Measurement and Automation Explorer. Now the value of the resistor has to be low enough so that it does not affect the circuit and large enough so that it does not consumes much power. There is no unique answer for this.
Hope this helps,
