Hi there,

Have a look at the specs here:  http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/371303e.pdf

Specifically,  look for the Event Counter.  The spec says: You can configure PFI 0 as a source for a gated invertor counter input edge
count task. In this mode, falling-edge events are counted using a 32-bit counter. For more information about event timing requirements, refer to the Specifications section.

Good luck!

Why not start with posting what you have so far?

It will make it easier for others monitoring the boards to help you out.

well, i have a flowmeter wich has 3 wires, a plus and a minus which get 5 volts en a variable, which gives a pulse at each 16 millilitres

than i have the daq 6009 which following the specs has a counter en a have labVIEW 8.0

now i am a student at the higer technical school and my task is to translate the pulses to a flow which you can see as a gauge in labVIEW

today i connected the minus from the flowmeter to the ground on the daq en the plus to the pfi 0 port, that doesn't give any result on my daq program, so not even in labview yet

if i connect it to an analog port ai1 i see the blockwave in my dfaq program but i still cant read it into labview:(

i also have a pressure meter which gives a voltage between 1 and 5 volts to meassure a hight in a tank, this was no problem connecting and it words fine

And in the usermanual you can find information about using PFI0 as event counter, see attachment.

I try to use the count of my NI 6009 with Matlab.

Explainations about PFI0 are really small...

How create the channel ? And how access the data ?

Hello Eti'n

Thank you for your post. I don't have any experience with Matlab, so I can't help you with that, but there is a tutorial and some tools which can help you to work with the driver (DAQmx), please review the following document and find the download tools below this page.

Best regards,
