installed NI MAX cant see any thing in Data Neighborhood category?

Dear friends, i have been using only labview 2012. For the moment i need to communicate with an instrument CAN protocol. As far as i know i need to do this in NI MAX which is already installed. To start using CAN functions i have read that they are in Data Neighborhood, however it seems all the categories i have are empty inside. What else do i need to install in order to have all the basic CAN functions?

Hi,

it depends what Hardware you are using and what you want to do and how you are gouint to to it. Basically you should install the Drivers NI DAQmx first, then NI-CAN and NI-XNET. Then you should be ready to get started.

NI-DAQmx 9.7

https://www.ni.com/en/support/downloads/drivers/download.ni-daq-mx.html#288366

NI-CAN 2.7.4

https://www.ni.com/en/support/downloads/drivers/download.ni-can.html#344634

NI-XNET 1.7

https://www.ni.com/en/support/downloads/drivers/download.ni-xnet.html#306172

Here you have a little start up:
