Is it possible to use a PCI daq card (like the 6035e) on a laptop computer (Dell computer Inspiron 8100) via an adaptor or do I have to buy a PCMCI card?

MAGMA makes PCI expansion systems that will allow you to do what you want:

A PCMCIA card would be a lot smaller and easier to setup.

Hello;

Even though you might find PCI/PCMCIA adaptors to adapt one bus type to the other, that doesn't guarantee the DAQ board will work on that setup.

I'm saying that because the NI-DAQ driver wasn't tested under such circunstance. Depending on how the driver of the adaptor is structured, the NI-DAQ driver for our DAQ devices might have difficulties on recognizing the DAQ device.

I think the safe choice is to purchase a PCMCIA DAQ card.
