measurement and automation does not recognize any accessories for my PXI-6723

I have a PXI-6723 that I want to use with a SCB-68 but there are no accessories listed on the menu in MAX (under properties) and the scb-68 is not on the list when I select "create new" under devices and interfaces.

Hello Tuesday,

Just to make sure we're on the same page here's a screen shot of my properties tab for a simulated PXI-6733:

Once I go to My System>> NI-DAQmx Devices>> PXI-6733, right click and go to properties I have the option of selecting the SCB-68 from the drop down menu.  From what you've said it sound like this is what you're doing and the SCB-68 is not on the list.

If this is the case it would be helpful to know if the SCB-68 shows up when you simulate a PXI-6733 like I've done.  To simulate the device:

1.  Right click on My System>> NI-DAQmx Devices and select Create New NI-DAQmx Device>> NI-DAQmx Simulated Device.

2.  In the Choose Device window choose AO Series>> NI PXI-6733 and select OK.

3.  Follow the steps above and try to configure a SCB-68 on the simulated NI PXI-6733.

In addition to knowing whether or not you can configure the SCB-68 on a simulated device it would also be helpful to know what version of NI-DAQmx you have installed.  You can check this in the software tab of MAX (My System>> Software>> NI-DAQmx.  Once you left click on NI-DAQmx the version number will show up in the middle panel of MAX.  Also, what operating system are you using, and if you're using LabVIEW it would be good to know what version as well--upgrading the driver may be the solution to this problem so we need to avoid going to a version of NI-DAQmx that isn't supported on your version of LabVIEW or operating system.

For LabVIEW 8.5 and Windows XP NI-DAQmx 8.7.1 is the current version.  If you have an older version you may want to try to upgrade the driver.  If the behavior you're seeing is a bug it looks like it is fixed in this version (as that is the version I have), and if the behavior you're seeing is a result of a corrupted install then installing the newer version may correct the issue.  If you're not using LabVIEW 8.5 you can check this KnowlegeBase article to find out the latest version of NI-DAQmx supported for your version of LabVIEW:  NI-DAQ & LabVIEW Version Compatibility (for Windows).  Then you can search for that driver at the Drivers and Updates page.

Feel free to post back if you're still having trouble, and have a great day!

Cheers,
