upgrading LV needs to re-install DAQmx?

    Hallo there,
I am using LV 7 Express with DAQmx 7. I'm going to upgrade to LV 8.0(or LV 7.1).

I would like to ask if I must firstly, unplug the PCI card and uninstall DAQmx and then install them back again after the LV upgrade

Thank you for your time...

That should be a neat sequence to do your upgrading.Smiley Happy

While installing NI DAQ device drivers, I advise you to install the latest version of Traditional DAQ and DAQmx ( this you will find in 'Drivers and updates' section of support page), rather than the older versions that you might have used with your LabVIEW 7 Express

Hello Jim.  When installing NI products, the recommended sequence for doing so is LabVIEW, drivers, hardware.  However, if you already have some of these components installed on your computer, there are ways to do this without uninstalling everything and starting over.  Instead of uninstalling and reinstalling drivers, you can choose to 'modify' them via Add/Remove Programs in your control panel.  This will allow you to make your new version of LabVIEW recognize previously installed drivers.  However, devchander is correct in suggesting that you upgrade to the newest drivers since these will give you the best performance and newest feature set.
