using NI-usb 6009 in mac

Hi, I am using labview 2011 in mac system

1. I have donloaded DAQmx 3.6 to my mac, I will use NI-USB 6009 for DAQ expecially to get data from analog input.

When I plug the NI-USB 6009, the led didnot flashing still down, and I use lsdaq to detect my NI-usb, but it could not detect.

but when I saw in the system hardware in mac, the mac recognize as composite device.

How my mac and labview know the NI-USB?

2. In my labview I can not find DAQ Assistant, what can I do to make this appear in my labview.

thank you

Daniel

I can't help with the problem of not detecting the device but I do know that the DAQ Assistant does not come with DAQmx Base - only DAQmx and windows.

daniel,

That is correct.  You will need to create your own program with the DAQmx Base VIs.  The detailed help files will be useful as they tell you about which VIs may be required for creating tasks and such.

Is your USB-6009 an older one? Several years ago there were some issues with the firmware installed in the 6008/6009 devices which required updating if the device had ever been connected to Windows machine before it could be used on a Mac.

A thread I started several years ago has links to some information about that issue.

Thank you Lynn,

It is helpfull, but my NI-6009 detected in my mac became NI-6008. Is it a problem?

And I build a task in DAQmx Base 3.6 with task configuration utility, and saved. but the LabView cannot read the task. Do I miss something?

daniel,

Search in the support pages of NI for "USB-6009 recognized as USB-6008" or something similar.  I saw some posts about that recently. That may be able to help.

I do not have any DAQ devices available currently so I really cannot help much with the task issue.

Hi Guyz,

Currently I am using NI 6009 USB and a Application built on Labview 7.1 in Microsoft Windows. Now I want to run the same on Android base tablet or a Mac. Please suggest me how is it possible and what are the possible changes which I need to do.

In order to run on a Mac, you need to purchase a copy of LabVIEW for Mac, install DAQmc base, and then replace the DAQmx functions.

You cannot use LabVIEW directly on Android.

Thanks for reply. To understand more

  •  Do I need to buy a seperate copy of software of LABVIEW for Mac, or I can make a application for mac by installing some drivers or some updates on my current "LABVIEW for Windows Software".
  • How can I install, DAQ mc base. Is there any link from Where I can download this software.

Thank you very much in Advance.
