I had a similar experience with the SH100-100 and a DIO board and I found this knowledge base -
The SH100-100 Cable and DIO Cards. If it's a straight through cable, then you'll be fine, but if some of the lines are connected together, you'll have to check your MIO pinout to make sure those two lines don't belong to +5V and GND for example! If you can find the pinout for a board that uses the D100100, you might do a continuity test between terminals marked as GND, +5V, or anything else that could be suspected as common.
