16 x 8 RAM 74189

I am attempting to build a SAP-1 (Simple As Possible) computer from Malvio's Book Digital Computer Electronics and need a 74189 16x8 RAM. The chip is not in the student edition of Multisim. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to substitute with?

Hi,

In Multisim's component database under the Misc Digital Group/Memory. You will find some 16k*8 RAM components for example:

27C128Q120

27C128Q150

27C128Q200

However, they are only symbol and footprint models, i.e there's no SPICE simulation model for them (you can not simulate them). They are helpful for schematic capture and layout prototyping.
