Do I need to put a keep out area all round the edge of a board when using power planes, or will Ultiboard automatically prevent the planes going right to the edge of the board?
I *think* it leaves a small gap, but I'm not 100% sure.

You can set the clearance by selecting Options>>PCB Properties>>Copper Layers and change the Outline Clearances.
