Hi,

The router tries to save space by routing as close to pins and other traces as possible and what you are seeing is the result.  Unfortunately, there is no tool available to automatically clean this up so after the router finished routing, turn off all the layers except for one manually clean up traces that you don't like.  You don’t have to reroute the trace, all you have to do is click on the segment you don’t like and drag it a the new location, this sounds like a lot of work but it will likely take you about 10 minutes to do.

Tien,

Thats unfortunate.  This screen shot is a small portion of a PCb with nearly 1600 nets.  And they all look as poor as this.  I don't think this will take me 10 minutes, more like 10 days.  Is there a way to autoroute only a few desired nets at a time?

Hi,

I have played around with many settings in the past and I have never found anything that will address this issue, I always manually fix the traces.

Tien,

I have discovered a new problem.  First I am using Ultiboard 10.0.144.  When I use the follow me feature, sometimes - randomly it seems, the trace angles will change from 45 deg to arcs.  can you tell me how to change them back to 45 degree angles?

Thanks

Joe

Hi Joe,

You should be able to delete the arcs and redo that section of the trace.  I recommend using the Place>>Line instead of the Follow Me router, the line method is much easier to control.
