Can't find 74HC259

Solved!
Go to solution

I need a 74HC259 8-bit addressable latch. In Multisim's component reference, I've found an entry for "74xx259" but I can't actually find this chip anywhere. Can anyone help me get this chip into my Multisim? Thanks!

Hi,

This component is present in the Master Database. Right-click and select Place Component. Under Database, select Master Database. under Group select CMOS and under Family select 74HC_4V. You should be able to locate the chip in here. This chip is actually available in 2V, 4V and 6V voltage levels.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

I followed your directions but I am still unable to find this chip. I have up to 74HC258N and then it skips to 74HC266N. I am using the student version, could this be the issue?

My application version is 11.0.2, database version is 11.0.b.

Thank you for you help,
Dan

Thanks,

It seems that this component is not available in the student version. I have placed the component on a design. You can copy paste from here when you need to use it.

Hope this helps.
