Hi,

Thanks for the screen shot.I never saw this error before. You should be able to install it on VISTA.I suggest to uninstall the evaluation edition and try installing again.Make sure you turn off your firewall.I will search more and see if I can solve this problem for you.Let me know if you were able to install it.

Thank you,

Hi All,

How is the install going? Have you managed to make any progress. I think the most likely will be your fire wall, and I have found some similar issues resolved in that way.

If you are still having issues can you have a look in the windows error logs, and see if any more information is given there.

Control Panel>>Administrative Tools>>Event Viewer

Post back your findings and we can move on from here.

Regards

Hi,

I am having exactly the same problem as described above along with the same message for other components, as the installation tries to continue after the first error message. I do believe I had the software installed prior to this, which was probably an earlier version, but uninstalled it using the uninstaller provided through add/remove programs.

I am running 64bit Windows 7 and ran the installer as an administrator. I have also tried the installation with firewall and anti-virus disabled. The version I am trying to install is the education edition of 12.0.1.

Any solutions would be appreciated. I have attached the log file from the install, along with a copy of the error messaged generated in the event viewer.

Thanks.

Are you running the installer from a DVD or from a download?  It may be that you have to re-download the installer from ni.com

You could also try downloading an earlier version of the software and then using NI Update Service to update to version 12 and see if that works.

Thank you for your reply Rob_Ward, I was running the installer from a download and tried vairous options, including the ones you mentioned, in an attempt to get it working. In the end I found it was an issue to do with permission settings on my hard drive. It was strange as this has never been a problem for any other application apart from multisim but I managed to install it and it works now.

Thanks again.

Mustafa88,

You need to ensure that your permissions are correct at the location you are running the installer from. Best bet is to copy it to C:\ and run it from there. Also ensure that the permission on the programme files folder include the users; TrustedInstaller, CREATOR OWNER and SYSTEM.
