European transistors

Are you referring to the netlist warning?  This is due to the Level parameter in the subcicuit.  You can either ignore the warning, or get rid of it by removing the Level parameter by double-clicking on the component and selecting Edit Model.

Level 1 is the default level specification in Multisim, which is the reason why you don't need to specify this is the netlist. But the model will simulate properly.

But I did notice that the model is mapped incorrectly.  To fix this:

1. Double-click on the component and select Edit component in DB

2. Select the Model tab

3. The pinout should be E-3 C-1 B-2

4. Click OK

Hi, no I received no warning, but the voltage on the collector is 4.x volts when it should be 12 V as the base is disconnected. Replacing this BC550 for a 2n2222A shows correctly 12 V at the collector.

Ok I have it now, it works, albeit the hFE is quite low. The original problem was to do with the pins. Could you please tell me, from the simple file you sent me, which is the pins bit?

Hello, here is the list of my questions because there are too many messages here.

1. Is there a way to view a model from the the Model Maker ? It is easier to fiddle with settings in the model maker's GUI and make tweaks rather than try to interpret the spice terxt file.

2. I cannot simulate properly because Multisim keeps changing the hfe over Ic ranges that have flat hfe. It seems multisim assumes a curve when it fact it is a straight horizontal line for a wide range. This comes from my measurements (hfe=520 from 30uA to over 1mA) but also from published datasheets. But somehow either multisim or spice seems try to fit it into a curve... Is there a way around that?

3. As I am a complete amateur and a non-professional, do I still need to pay for multisim when the evaluation expires? 🙂
