Generic resistor footprint dissapeared.

Solved!
Go to solution

Hello everyone,

I am using Multisim 10.

When I place a resistor, the generic footprint has dissapeared from the footprint options (1). When I place a virtual resistor with no footprint then select a footprint manually via right click > properties > edit footprint (2), I can select the "Generic - RES0.25" footprint(3) I was originally after. I have attached a picture to illustrate the options I have. Does anyone know how to get these generic footprints back into the initial footprint options (1)?

Thanks a lot

Dan

In version 10 and later, RLC components are treated a little differently from regular components. To add a footprint to the list in the Select a Component browser, you need to add a new definition for a resistor.

  1. Click Tools > Database > Database Manager
  2. Select the RLC Components tab
  3. Click the Add button
  4. Set the following information
    1. Family name: RESISTOR
    2. Value: 1k (can be any value here)
    3. Footprint Manufacturer/Type: Generic/RES0.25 (or the footprint you want to add)
  5. Click OK, the Close
You should now see the footprint in the Select a Component browser.
