Hi, I have Ultiboard 9 (a bit old) and I am trying to make a rectangle hole in a custom footprint. I followed the instructions in this forum, and got a beautiful part, but when I export it or preview the printout, the hole is missing. Would anyone in the know care to look at my file that I am attaching? I am trying to make the inside hole .295" x .061". S1 has some kind of hole showing when I print it, but it looks too long. I would appreciate any help.

Understandably, I haven't had any response to this post. Perhaps someone has a pre-made rectangle pad/hole that I could modify to my own dimensions??? It's going to have to work on Ultiboard 9 or earlier.

Hi,
I think the holes in your file are okay. They should show up in the print outs. Make sure that in the print menu, you have the check-box saying Leave Drill Holes Open checked.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for replying Tayyab. You are right, I didn't have the "Leave drill holes open" checked and so it looked like they were all closed. However, the holes that appeared after I set the check mark, show up round, not rectangle as they are supposed to be. I've tried a bunch of things, but can't get a rectangle hole. Any ideas?

It seems like this was a bug in that version. I was not able to find a way around that. The gerber files should be okay though for making the actual board.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

You are right Tayyab, the gerber files do show a rectangle hole, but not the printout. I had to fuss with it a bit, but finally got the gerber viewer (I used Viewmate just to be sure) to show the rectangle hole correctly. Thanks for your help.
