How do I save a component from a schematic in Multisim 11?

I have some schematics with parts I'd like to add to my library. Is there a way to save the part directly to my database without haveing to go through the pesky component wizard?

Hi,

You can right click a component and select Save Component to DB. This allows you to save the component into your database.

Hope this helps.

I do not have this option when I right click on components.I have cut, copy, move commands, replace commands, edit symbol/title block, color, font, and properties. I do not even have "save component" as a greyed out option.

After you right click, choose properties. Now you will be given the option to save to a database.

I clicked properties but I was only able to chose replace, edit component in database (which doesn't seem to have the option to save), edit footprint, and edit model.

That's very strange. I can also see the Save Component to DB button. Can you post a screenshot of what's shown when you click on the Value tab of Properties?

Hi,

The option to save component to database is not in the student edition of Multisim. The easiest way to save the component to your user database would be to go to the properties of the component, make a change like say the name, and then save it. This should give you the option to save the component into your user database.

Hope this helps.

I don't really see a way to change it in any way that allows me to save to the database. When I click "Edit Part in Database" it just does this (see image) and does not show me the part, pinouts, model or anything like it does if I try to edit a part I already have in the database.

I also included a file that shows what it looks like when I click on the value tab.

Hi Momenslythe,

What edition of Multisim are you using? If you are using ADE then that Saving Component function might not be there.

Derek

There was no solution for this thread? I can't figure out how to save to the user database either. Any help would be great.
