How do you save a circuit built in multisim as a previous version

I recently purchased EWB multisim 10 to augment my course work.  The problem I am having is that the University that I attend has an older copy of multisim and while I can run projects built in class on Multisim 10, If I build a circuit at home I cannot run it in class and I do not see any method to allow me to save the circuit as a previous version so that I can run it in class.  Help!!

In my Multisim 2001, I also do not see a way of doing what you need to do. The only thing that I do see is that you can go into the Transfer menu and click on the Export Netlist. This will create a .cir file that should be compatible with older versions theoretically. The only thing that may cause a problem is the fact that some components may not be in the older version that are in the newer version for example some of the CPU's. You can test drive this technique and see if it will work the way you want. I haven't used this as much as the next technique.

The only other option I see (which really sucks) is that you can print your circuit from the new version and manually re-enter it into the old version. I have done this on many occasions with circuits on this forum.

I hope I was able to assist. If someone else has a better option I would like to hear it also.

Hi,

Multisim in not backward compatible, you can use V10 to open any file created in previous versions but unfortunately, older version will not open the V10 files as the format have changed.  My suggestion is the same as Lacy, there is no other way to this.

Thank you both.  I'll give that a try.  it is a pity that multisim does not have that function, hopefully the engineers read this forum every once a while and will take note.
