Missing Components in Curcuit Design 11 (Wide DIP-Sockets/DIP40)

Hello.

In old versions of the Curcuit Design Suite there was a DIP-40 socket, but it doesn't exist in v11.

Why is that?

How can i add it ?

And where did all other wide DIP-sockets go? - i can't find a single wide footprint for wide DIP-sockets.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Please take a look at the attached screenshot. This is the Version 11 database which you can get to by opening Ultiboard and going to Tools -> Database -> Database Manager.

Hope this helps.

Hi.

In the attached screenshot i have selected the largest DIP-socket found.

No wide sockets found in the list. What now?

I need the wide through-hole versions in Ultiboard.

Hi,

If you have the footprint in an older version file, you should be able to save it to your database by opening the design in Ultiboard 11 and clicking the footprint and going to Tools -> Database -> Add Selection to Database.

You can also create new footprints by following the steps in the link below:

Hope this helps.

I couldn't get a hold of a database which contains the missing components since those who used to have it had switched to a version missing them.

And the component/footprint-making seems a bit too much trouble...

Isn't there somewhere i can download premade components?

Sorry for double posting, couldn't find an edit button.

It seems the footprints still exist somewhere in Curcuit Design Suite since i found DIP40 footprint for the 8052 IC

This way it should work and if it does follow the DIP40 socket standards, it wouldn't take that long to make a custom socket with 40 pins in multisim and set it to use the mentioned footprint
