Monte Carlo troubleshoot

Hi all,

I need to run some circuits through a Monte Carlo simulation and present the data to my boss. I've been running 1000 trials, but generally only a little over 3/4 of them produce an output. In the grapher window, it shows the parameters for the trials that don't produce an output, but where the output variable should be it's just blank. Some of the messages that I get in the Simulation Error Log/Audit Trail include Gmin step/stepping failed, source stepping failed, doAnalysis: iteration limit reached, and op simulation(s) aborted.

The main problem is that when calculating the average value, it includes all of the zeros from the failed trials so my average just gets wrecked. Otherwise the outputs from the successful trials are right on with what I need.

Any help, info, tips, advice is greatly appreciated!!

fodangle,

I am assuming you are generating a table of output values (not a waveform)...   If this is the case you can do some postprocessing in Excel...

Hit the Export to Excel button...

Once in Excel you should be able to sort and exclude any out-of-range values (such as non-values) that you are seeing.

If you are generating waveforms (transient or AC analysis) then you may need to export to LabVIEW and do some post processing there...
