MultiVHDL

Hi togehter!

I have a question about Multisim and VHDL Simulation.
We have buyed multisim and a guy from NI told us, that the VHDL-Simulation is in Version 10 included in Multisim.
But if I do as described in the help, I can only make a component out of a .vx file, not as told us directy from a vhdl-code. the help says, that the .vx file is a compiled file out of MultiVHDL. But this part we don't have.
Do I make any mistake, or is the simulation (better: the creation of a component for simulation) only possible with the extra MultiVHDL-Package?

Thanks for help,
Chris

Multi-VHDL does not get install with Multisim, it is a separate application that you buy.  If you have Multi-VHDL you can write code and once you have compiled your code, it will create a .vx file and Multisim can use the file as a model that can simulate.

I got an answer form NI today, that MultiVHDL will not be available in Version 10. The funny thing is, I can simulate vhdl, but I need the .vx-File for that. And there is not tool in future, to generate the .vx-File.... Verry strange...

MultiVHDL 8 will work with version 10 though. You can call and check with Sales if they have some of those leftover.

When will simulation for custom VHDL components be available?

Verilog is a common way of providing digital component models, it's very disappointing that NI has abandoned support for this (esentially) without instituting a replacement before hand.
