Multisim 8.0 - Reports menu is missing.

In our college we are using Multisim 8.0.0.0 installed as a shared app on an application server, and its been pretty smooth over the years.

Recently one of our lecturers updated some assessment materials and for the first time included several functions in the "Reports" menu.  Unfortunately the "Reports" menu will not appear for any user on any workstation in any of the teaching labs.  Changing from Simplified View to Full and back has no effect, neither does deleting and refreshing/reseting the users' .ewcfg config files.  Removing and re-installing Multisim also has no effect.

The Reports menu does appear on some non-teaching workstations, and on those PCs it appears for all users, e.g. the aforementioned lecturer's PC and those of several of my colleagues and myself.

I built two test PCs from base Ghost images we use for Standard teaching labs, then added Multisim: no "Reports" menu for any user in any view.

Then I tried the same thing with a Ghost image for a Computing lab: the "Reports" menu worked fine for all users.  The second build differs in having a lot of extra developer tools included in it, but has the same underlying basis as the standard lab images - same version and update level of WinXP, same Office 2007, etc.

We do have a potential workaround as it is still possible to make a "Reports" Toolbar and populate it with all the missing functions, but I'm hoping for a  solution that gets the actual "Reports" menu to reappear.

Hi Arodger,

If you get one of the machines that doesn't have the report toolbar and install a fresh copy of Multisim on there does it have the Reports toolbar?

If you reghost the machines, do the same ones have the missing toolbar each time?

Hi Owen,

Thank you for the response 🙂

Reinstalling Multisim has no effect, that was the first thing we tried.

Re-ghosting with any of the suitable ghost images also had no effect.

Since posting the help request we've noticed one extra wrinkle.  I mentioned making a Reports Toolbar as a workaround; turns out thats unneccessary.  The missing menus on the affected machines are all being presented by Multisim as toolbars already, including the Reports menu which was the one the lecturer's assessment hinged on.  And this happens even on the first use of Multisim on a newly built PC by a user who's never used Multisim before.  Curioser and curioser.

Since all the functions are available even though in a somewhat non-standard form, the pressure is off.  But I'd still be interested in any possible solutions.
