Multisim Save Path

Just came across this and I do not know if it is problem or not.

I changed my default circuit save path. Now if I try to load a file from a different location on my drive like say "My Documents" then I close this file and open a new schematic file and enter in my schematic, then the next time I hit the save option it goes to the last open directory instead of saving to the default circuit directory. I can use "save as" and browse to the directory I wish to save in, but shouldn't all saves automatically go to the default until I decided to change it on my own? Even when I hit "save as" the directory, in this situation, that pops up is the last opened directory and not the default one

Has anybody encountered this and is there a solution for that I am not aware of?

This is in Version 10.1. I don't remeber noticing this in 10.0.1 but it may have happened there also and I am just now seeing it.

I think this is intentional. I think Multisim remembers the last used directory until you close it. My thinking is that if I open something in another directory then I'm likely working from that directory for this session. I think it makes sense. If you close Multisim you should notice that it resets to the default directory next time.

I can confirm this is intentional. The circuit default path gives the default path to save a circuit, but if you open a file in another directory, you are probably working from that directory.

Thanks guys, I understand. I thought I was losing my mind there for a second. So if I load a file from a different directory from now on I will be sure to return to the default directory before performing anymore saves. This way my files won't get scattered anymore.

Thanks again for the help.

It should never really be a problem, because even with the default directory, if you just select "Save" it will bring up a prompt to name the file, showing what directory you are about to save to. The only time it wouldn't prompt you is when you are working with a file that has already been saved/opened.
