I have a question about building spice models. I'm needing to model a very obsolete op-amp (CA3010 made by RCA in a 12 pin package) that is not in the Multisim library. I've not been able to find a model through searching online either. I tried using the wizards and model maker to build a model based off the datasheet and came up with the attached model.
The circuit I'm trying to simulate is using pin 1 (bias pin) attached to 5Vdc on the board. It also uses pin 5 (overload protection) attached to the output pin. The model that was created by model maker doesn't include these pins. I'm trying to use the schematic diagram located on the datasheet. Will using virtual transistors, resistors, and diodes work for converting a schematic to a model?

Hi,
A spice macro model is created from core SPICE parts such as control current and voltage sources, diode, transistors etc... If you know have to built the circuit to emulate the part you want, you can convert a circuit to a model. Have a look at this knowledge base for more details:

As far as using the drawing from the datasheet to create a model, the problem is you don't know the properties of the internal parts in the drawing and if you just use virtual parts from Multisim, the circuit may not behave like the component.
