Online Questionnaire for Multisim Schematic Capture Feedback

As part of our ongoing effort to improve Multisim, the National Instruments Electronics Workbench Group would like to better understand your needs for schematic capture. We are interested in feedback primarily about buses and hierarchical designs.

When answering this questionnaire, please keep in mind not only how you work in Multisim, but also how you might work in other software, and even what you would do if you were quickly sketching a schematic on paper.

The questionnaire can be accesed through this link: Multisim Schematic Capture Feedback

(Direct link: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=wGUmZWpv0PcjwyO5iK6G6w_3d_3d)

We will carefully review the feedback provided in the questionnaire.

Best regards,

Nestor

I began filling out the questionaire, but at around 50% I decided that it really isn't meant for me and my use of Multisim.  I believe I would just taint the results you sought.  For my use of Multisim is, generally, to find out how certain sections of a design work or will work together.  In other words, I rarely (in fact, I don't think I have ever) would plan out a whole design in Multisim.  To me, a buss is simply a means to move many wires from one page to another or to reduce clutter in a drawing.  Other than that, I'd prefer to draw the separate lines, giving each line a unique name.  For example, let's say I had an address buss of 16 lines.  I would prefer drawing the 16 lines while zoomed in and then to back out of the 16 lines, leaving a thick line behind.  Hence, the number of lines in the bus would be determined by the thickness I saw when zoomed out.  Anything more complicated than that probably isn't for me.  Hence, I doubt your questionaire was really meant for me.

You've just described bus functionality by your approach.  You can give each bus node a unique name the same way.

To Euler. I basicalkly use Multisim the same you you do. I filled out the questionare and I would urge you to do the same because the more input NI has from users then the better the product will get in the future. The choice is yours, of course, but like the little old lady who urinated in the sea said "Every little bit helps"

Is/will there be one for Ultiboard?

Theres' a few things I can think of that would make creating parts soooo much more efficient, faster, easier....

Hi Scott, we are not yet planning an online questionnaire for Ultiboard. However, every day I check our Product Suggestion Centre. If you do have feedback that will help us improve Ultiboard I'd encourage you to send it to us.

To reach our Production Suggestion Centre, in the NI website click the Contact NI link either at the top or at the bottom of the webpage. Then on the lower left section of the site you will see the Product Feedback section, click the feedback link, Ultiboard is in the list of products.

Thanks!
