Problem in merging .prz files from ADI

Hi there,

I have encountered the same problem. Since I have access to several versions of multisim from Version 5 I used multisim v9 to extract those .prz, import them to my database, migrate the database and install the database to multisim v10. v10 will recognize earlier versions of multisim plain database (MSAccess format rather than prz compressed format) and works well.

Cheers

Harold

I see that the last post is in April 2008. The issue is not resolve yet. Can someone in EWB group open the file in ver. 9 into a user database, save it, convert it to ver. 10 and post the database. It should take minutes.

Thanks,

Hello,

I updated this database some months ago; I'm not sure if this is the last version of the database that ADI has in its website, but it might help. Just go to File>>Open and select the prz file, then save the components to either your Corporate or User Database.

I hope this helps.

Thank you Fernando for the link. This file however contains only a small fraction of the components that are in the file in the Analog Devices site. Can somebody that has version 9 please open that file and import it to version 10. This cannot take more that a few minutes.

Thanks,

Hi there,

I couldn't follow the link that you posted: http://www.analog.com/UploadedFiles/Drawing_Templates/ADI_All_MultiSim_Symbols.zip

However, I did find this page: http://www.analog.com/en/design-tools/dt-symbols-footprints/design-center/index.html

I did manage to import most of the symbols to my user database. Some of them were not created for Multisim 9 and did not import (about 176 out of 1595), but the remainder imported OK. Attached is a user database which you can merge into your own database. Simply:

  1. Download the attachment and unzip it
  2. Tools>>Database>>Merge Database
  3. Select the database that you downloaded
Hope that was what you were looking for!

The attached file contains components created by ADI and it was converted for Multisim 11.

To add the parts to your database, startup Multisim and select Tools>>Database>>Database Manager, select the "Components" tab and press "Import" button.
