Hello,

i need help again with a counter. I want to count a rectangular signal. I like to use the sync up/down counter, the 74193N, but i dont know how to root it. It would be nice, if someone could give me an example circuit.

I thought, that the FreqCounter could do this operation, but its a bad tool. It dont count pulses, it only count the positive and negative slope of an signal...

Not sure, but I think he needs to know the proper hook-up for the IC he mentioned in his post.

I mean the hook-up of the IC and it would be nice if somebody could give an exmaple circuit.

Hello,

I'm not sure if this is what you were looking for, but it gets the basic counter working. Note the changes to the function generator. The change to the frequency was only to observe the counter working. Note that in a digital circuit you must have a digital ground somewhere in the circuit.

I dont know that there must be an digital ground in the circuit, so that was my mistake i think.

One other thing I didn't mention that perhaps you have found, is that you must also have a power source for the digital parts also. Ground alone is not enough. Hope this didn't cause any confusion. I'm not familiar with the power and ground symbolic conventions your version uses. Sorry.
