Removing component grid?

So i made a round component, a vaccum tube socket, in Ultiboard. But theres a square grid attached to the component that dont let any other componets to be placed inside of it. I want to be able to place componets closer to the tube socket but the grid just wont let that happen. What to do? Can i get rid of the grid or is there something that can be adjusted so the grid let components to be placed inside of it?

 A picture???

As you can se there is a square no mans land around the round component. Markt by the red arrow you can se that its impossible to put any component inside the square.

What do do?

Hi there,

One thing that you can do is to turn off part shoving. To do this, you should:

  1. Open your design in Ultiboard
  2. Click Design>>Part Shoving

Next time you move a component, any component that is in its way will not be moved. The drawback is, you will get more DRC errors.

You can move the resistors inside the square boundary of the tube. This will cause Ultiboard to generate a DRC error. For most components in our database, which are rectangular, this would be correct, but in your case, this error should be manually verified and ignored. Please manually check that your resistor is indeed not overlapping the tube and you should be good to go.

Hope that helps.
