This is exactly my problem, first reported on April 12 as I recall. It downloads the update, asks for the license sign-off, acts like it is installing briefly, and then shows a screen that says nothing was changed. Finds update again when I check again. I also have Windows XP SP3. I did a system restore back to April 4, tried reinstalling Multisim, repairing Multisim, etc. My "support" weenie has apparently given up.

Good day everyone, up to today we have had a few hundred succesful downloads and installations. From this thread I can see that some of you have had problems with the installers.
Please understand that this may be computer-specific and we have no general way of addressing it (other than asking you to reinstall all 11.0 from scratch -which we don't want). It is best if you start a service request using ni.com/ask and give Tech Support a call or send email. It will be easier to troubleshoot the specifics of your computer on a case-by-case basis and we'll have more information to determine why the installer thinks your software is up-to-date.
Please be aware, you must have a clean installation of 11.0, meaning your Help>About Multisim menu item should list 11.0 as build 11.0.278. After the 11.0.0.1 patch install, it should say build 11.0.405.
If you are indeed planning to call Tech Support, it will help them a lot if you have already a log file handy. KB "Creating an Error Log File for Software Installation" provides the instructions for a Windows install. If you have downloaded the software using Update Service, the path to the installer is:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\National Instruments\Update Service\Installers\NI Circuit Design Suite 11.0.405\setup.exe
So, a sample instruction to be used from the Windows Start > Run... command will be:
"C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\National Instruments\Update Service\Installers\NI Circuit Design Suite 11.0.405\setup.exe" /log "C:\myLog.txt"
If you instead downloaded the patch directly from the Drivers & Updates website, just substitute the path on the above sample code to where you have unzipped the patch.
I hope this provides some guidance on where to start and where to find help for those that may encounter anomalies installing the patch.
Best regards,

Thank you for passing this information. I'll make sure that our QA team has checked that scenario.

I also have both versions installed and could not update 11. Not sure I want to remove 10 yet. I watch hopefully for a fix.

Just to let everyone know. Our web team is working on upgrading our Drivers and Updates website, as well as the Update Service backend system. During this time (which will last maybe 2 days) the new Multisim patch along with every other patch from NI will not be available.

Thanks RLC. I just quickly checked... the defect ID is 116877, it is fixed in the current internal build. It was not included in the 11.0.0.1 patch. It is targeted for the next patch. I will check with the Applications Engineer that helped you on that issue to see if there is any way possible to provide you the fixed model in the meantime, as our next patch is still under development and it may take a few months to be ready. I can't promise anything but I'll check with the AE to see if this is possible.
