Problem confirmed:

I tried to update on my laptop and had the same error.  When I removed V10 then it updated correctly.

Good day everyone. For those of you who have reported that removing "V10" has let you install the 11.0.0.1 patch, I'd really like to get a feeling on what version you refer to as V10. If you know please report it here. Examples... 10.0, 10.0.1, 10.1, 10.1.1, and Edu or Pro. The reason why this is important is that we have been looking extensively in the inner workings of the version reporting to the installer technology. Knowing what version is the one that has given the problem will speed up this process.

Thank you everyone for helping us on this. We were able to determine the root of the problem and are in the process of fixing it.

Basically, if you had an active installation of 10.1 with the 10.1.0.1 patch installed (and you may or may not have patched with 10.1.1 later on), the latest 11.0.0.1 patch was getting confused and it thinks that it is already installed. This should not happen if you have a clean 10.1.1 installation, that means not a patched one. This is why you were able to install 11.0.0.1 by uninstalling (making unactive) your patched 10.1 software.

We will be pulling off the patch from the web to make the changes to the files. It will maybe take us a week to make it live again. The build will remain the same 11.0.405, so if you already have it installed there will be no need to download it again. Only those that have not downloaded the patch will now be able to install it with a side-by-side installation when 10.1.0.1 is installed.

We regret the inconvenience this may have caused to some of you, we have taken corrective measures to avoid this from happening in the future.

I will post more information as soon as it becomes available.

I'm pleased to announce that we have now fixed the installation issues with patch 11.0.0.1, in return for your patience we added a few more defect fixes to the original patch and are now calling it 11.0.0.2.

Please run Update Service (Start > Programs > National Instruments > NI Update Service) and check for updates.

Even if you were succesful in installing 11.0.0.1 before, you can still download 11.0.0.2 and get a few more defect fixes. If you have 11.0, the 11.0.0.2 patch includes 11.0.0.1, no need to download separately.

For more information on the 11.0.0.2 patch you can visit this link.

Best regards,

Nestor
