Hi EPTodd, unfortunately, Multisim doesn't support Chromebooks based OS. The best approach would for your students to use Multisim Live which will allow the students to create circuits and run simulations.

Hi rlibros, to share a Multisim Live circuit you'll need to save it as a public circuit using the Save As option in the menu (upper left corner). then your students will have to look for that circuit in the Public Circuits Library. When they find it, just click on the circuit and then click on the Open Circuit option.

rlibros,
I created a "closed" group on my profile page and then invited each of my students to join. I can now share a circuit from my profile page to the closed group by selecting it (but don't open it) and use the group share button on the bottom left side of the file to send a copy to the group. This also allows them to share completed assignments to me in a "one stop for all" manner.
Hope that helps.

Thanks capuy26. I looked at that and I think it may just work for my circuits class. The circuits they need to work with are fairly simple. Not so sure about my digital class. Need to see what circuits are currently available in the public circuits library, but unfortunately Multisim Live doesn't give me the option of creating circuits with anything more than the most basic gates. Thanks for you suggestion.

I have not found many circuits that my students can not build with this program. It works great with Digital circuits. I have had my students draw and test Combinational and Sequential Digital Logic Circuits. Mux, Demux, Adders, Subtracters, counters, everything. Excellent program and it will help you.

Please post links to the free student Multisim on line.

I would think during this extraordinary time of need NI would just trust their COMMUNITY and allow a download. Other similar companies have already offered solutions.

It isn't about trusting or not trusting the community. Our whole software platform has been oriented toward a proprietary model. Options to just give it away aren't built into the website or the software. NI has been shifting to be more community oriented, with significant changes intended for later this year. This crisis has brought the need for us to pivot faster than we had planned. The scale of this change in work and school patterns is massive. We are responding as fast as we can.

@rlibros There is a slight work around to this as well, most people i imagine are using the free multisim live. if there's only 1 component that they require that isn't available on the free version you can search through the public circuits for a circuit that has your desired component built into it. Then you just copy the circuit from the button and strip the circuit of any excess components then hit save as and rename/save it to your circuits, it can then be copied by any number of students to have access to an otherwise unusable premium component.
