Ultiboard 12.0 DXF Export Help

Hello Everyone,

I have designed a PCB layout in Uliboard12.0. In that PCB all traces of width 1 mm and are auto placed at angle of 45 degrees. When I see them in Ultiboard12.0 traces are perfectly connected to each other. However, when I export the .dxf file of this PCB and open it in AutoCAD tool "A gap at the corners/Bends is observed where two traces are connected at 45 degrees to each other.

So I cannot have smooth continous connectiin between traces. Please find the attached image indicating the problem.bends.png

Could you please suggest a possible reasons and solutions to troubleshoot this problem ?

Looking forward to hear from you .

Thanking you,

Ajit

Hi Ajt,

A trace segment in Ultiboard is a rounded rectangle but when you export to a DXF, a DXF command for rounded rectangle does not exist and it uses a rectangle command instead. This is why you see a gap whenever a trace changes direction. This is a known issue and unfortunately, there is no work around in Ultiboard presently.
