Using Multisim With Computer Simulated Experiments.

I own four of R. H. Berube's books for computer simulated experiments. I also have Multisim 2001. Two of the books

work properly with Multisim 2001. The experiments from the other two will not load at all. They apparently are

designed for Multisim 7. Is there any way around this problem, or is there some way to upgrade version 2001 to

version 7 ?

Hello,

Multisim is not backwards compatible, that's why you can't open version 7 files in Multisim 2001 (version 6). Unfortunately we no longer sell Multisim 7, however our latest edition can open old files (version 6 and later). If you want to give it a try you can download a free evaluation edition at:

I want to thank you for your advice. Unfortunately it appears that I  can no longer buy

NI products . I would like to buy the latest version of Multisim but I am no longer a student

and I won't consider any of the so called free downloads because of all the other things

ranging from a nuisance to dangerous that I would probably download along with it.

There is no such thing as a free lunch. I would be very grateful if you could suggest

some way for me to buy an original version of Multisim either from NI or one of your

distributors.

Hi,

If you want to buy Multisim just go to ni.com/multisim and click on Buy NI Multisim to compare the different purchase options.

I suggested the evaluation edition so that you can make sure that your version 6 files will open properly in the latest edition. Take into consideration that those files are six versions behind.

Let us know if you have further questions.

Hello,

If you don't meet the eligibility requirements for the Education and Student Editions you should consider the Professional editions: Base, Full and Power Pro.

Here is a comparison table.
