application error on first multisim run

1. installed design suite 11 from CD with no error

2. rebooted PC

3. ran activation wizard and got mutlisim activation with no error

4. click the multisim shortcut to start the application and get an application error with

"The applicaiton failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005). Click OK to terminate application"

Any ideas what is wrong?

I had this same issue with a customer and one of my colleagues in the US told me what the problem most likely is.

It seems that is caused by the Symantec Antivirus software. If you have this software take a look of the following Symantec KB:

Basically the workaround is to tell the Symantec software to allow Multisim to launch without checking for virus.
