backannotate bug

I have a seroious issue.

When i change a shape in ultiboard, normally i go to multisim and backannotate the changes. But since updated from 10.0 to 10.1.357 when i backannotate, the changed part will deleted !

The Annotation log says:

changing package "R2" from .... to .....

remove component: "R2"

But i do not deleted that part in ultiboard, just change its shape.

I have checked the procedure and it happens to me as well. I will escalate your problem and let you know as soon as I get an answer.

I've seen this behavior and it deleted half of my MS schematic..........boy was I pissed.  Good thing I always have current snapshots of my work!

Hi

I just got confirmation from the Multisim support team. They are aware of this problem and developers are working on the solution. So it will be solved in the future updates. In the meantime, the only workaround is to keep making all the changes in Multisim and forwardannotate them into Ultiboard.

Hi !

Today I am trying again the backannotate. With the latest patch. (10.0.485) And it still not work. It's a shame. Now, when I change a footprint in Ultiboard, ant trying to backannotate to multisim, I get a dialog box complaining : Component footprint mismatch.  I can ignore it, but then nothing happen, no chane in the footprint.

Next Annoying thing is, when placing part on the schematic, I can choose footprint names only, no visible feedback there, or preview. And when placed, go to properties / edit footprint, there are visible footprints, but no dimension marks. (like in the ultiboard) It is hard to decide what smd footprint is correct, without a dimension.

So now, if I want to change a footprint, I have to search it in ultiboard, remember the name (coz' i cant copy the name, grrrr again) ,then go to multism, and on the spreadsheet view changing the footprints, then forward annotate. I think this is weird a bit.

Hi

I just tried again this problem - this time both in versions 10.1 and 11 it seemed to work fine. Can you download the evaluation version of Multisim 11.0 from ni.com/multisim and try it with the latest version.

Regards

I have looked your file.AVI. Has checked up on the my computer. A simbol "!" in the right column appears, if such package of a component is absent in Database Multisim. If to choose the package which is for the given component in Database Multisim the summary OK.
