full wave rectifier, purpose of ground when use two capacitor and how to run with batteries

Dears all,

Respectfully, I need your help as my mechnic has failed to build a system on my requirement.

Simply

I have a audio system 2.1. I want to run it on car battery instead on AC.

when we open it, its current flow was designed on 12 volts center tap transfermor. I looked that it is build on a full wave rectifier (capacitor, double used). we tried but it does not run on battery. I want to know what is purpose of ground where pins on two capacitor meets and how i use it on battery instead of AC supply.

1. The circuit you posted produces two output voltages, one more positive than ground and the other more negative than ground.

2. A single 12 volt battery can only produce one voltage. If the negative battery terminal is connected go ground, the voltage will be positive.

3. Transformers only work with AC. Applying DC to a transformer effectively applies a short circuit to the DC source. This typically produces smoke, fire, explosions, bad odors, and destroyed parts.

There is nothing special about ground. In a circuit like that it is used simply to define a voltage reference for any measurements in the circuit. In a simulator at least one node must be designated as ground (or node 0) to be the reference point for all calcuations and measurements.

It appears that you know very little about how electronic circuits work.  Please tell us the specifics of your requirements and someone may be able to help.  What is "audio system2.1"? What are its requirements for power? Voltage? Current? Frequency?

I posted for help and admittely i know very little about electronic cause i am not electronicist by profession. however, one more person posting in a blog made me successful and my 2.1 audio system is now successfully working on single car bettery. earlier it was designed on 220V ac and transformer was making output 12+12 volt and full wave making a ground by centre tap. however, according to picture i use one filter capcitor to just link up and system is now running on single 12V car bettery. I was only experiencing that how if i placed a woofer with two little speaker (2.1) in my car and save space by eliminating big woofer and back speaker. result is accelant and making joys in car. A clear sound is coming from system now. I again thanks to you for reply. will touch you if need more help. thanks
