installing floating license on an existing flexlm server

Hi,

I have a flexlm server who manages Mentor Graphics licenses running on a linux debian box. I read that instead of using Volume Licence Manager from NI I could use my existing flexlm. However, according to NI instructions flexlm runs only on Solaris or Windows. Is that true only for Multisim ? I have flexlm running on a linux box. Could I use this flexlm to manage Multisim licenses ?

Thanks,
Rafael

The daemons that NI has for using license files on flexlm are only for Windows and Solaris. Please see the following KB:

2 years ago my company decided to discontinue use off FlexLM, mostly because of financial reason. Currently we're set up with X-Formation license management and monitoring software and we're satisfied with this switch. Check: www.x-formation.com
