numeric keyboard

Hi all,

I have to simulate an alarm system, and I have to insert a specific 4 characters code to activate the alarm system. I want the code to be entered throughout the dtmf_keypad on the screen, but i can't understand how this component works. Can anyone help me please?

Hi,

basically the kepyad is a 4x4 matrix, each row represents a low frequency, and each columns a high frequency. Double-click the keypad, go to the 'Display' tab, uncheck 'Use schematic Global Setting', check 'Show Symbols Pin Names'; you will see more details.

The input to the keypad can be done either by using your keyboard or the mouse.

You can find an example in Multisim on how to use keypads. Go to File>>Open Samples>>MCU Sample Circuits>>805x Samples and open the file 'Calculator.ms10'.

I hope this helps.

Bye!
