pad drill holes in dxf

Hi All,
I apologize for this newbie question.  I am having trouble getting the drill holes in the pads to export to dxf format from Ultiboard 9.  I am able to print them directly from ultiboard (by checking the appropriate opion on the print dialog), but when I output it to dxf, there are no holes (the pads are solid circle-like shapes).  Moreover, the vector drawings are a bit weird (not to mention quite jaggedy) so I am having problems chaning them all in Autocad or Illustrator.  Any suggestions?

Thanks again!

Scott,

Did you checked the Properties button?... When you do File >> Export, you have the properties button, make sure you are exporting the correct layers. However, the DXF capability of Ultiboard is not meant to be a complete CAD application, Pads, Holes, etc., they will export as solid circles, and usually you will like to have them as reference, so when you are working in AutoCAD for example, you will then use it to generate a real surface hole or similar entity that will be helpful on your chassis design (e.g.). Do not consider your question as newbie, I have discuss this before with Senior designers, I guess we all wish for a do-it-all kind of package. Plans to improve the DXF export are in place based on the feedback received from a variety of users.

My 2D dxf capabilities are non existent. I can export 3D dxf, but not 2D. The 2D app runs and writes garbage out until it crashes. It does this on all our boards, it's not just a single case. The properties button is selected, and all I specify is the board outline and 3D Top and 3D Bottom files. No large copper planes or traces are involved.

What's up with this?? Enquiring minds NEED to know!
