refdes value

There is the "x?" and "?" when creating a new component in ultiboard.

These are the refdes and the value.

But how can I set the value to a fixed value?

I want to use a specific fixed value attached to this component.

But every time I use this component it asked for the value...

Removing the questionmark doesn't help.

Hi Lighting01,

It is not possible to fix the value to be the same for every instance of that component because then there is no way to differentiate between them. The refdes has to be unique for each component on the design. If you want to add a number to the name of a component like for example instead of x call it x1, you can do this by adding a Text attribute to the component and that text will always show when ever you place the component. You can add a text attribute to the component while you are creating it by going to Place -> Graphic -> Text.

Hope this helps.

But the refdes will show me how many of the same component are placed.

The value can be the same.

Now I need to place manually every time the text "NCP03XV103E05RL" in the value field.

So I changed the "X?" to "NTC?" to get NTC1, NTC2 etc.

And now I need the value to be always "NCP03XV103E05RL".

So when I create a BOM the right value is displayed.

Hi Lighting01,

You should generate the BOM report in Multisim because there, you will see that it catagorizes by the name and type of component. Ultiboard is working with footprints etc so it is not possible to do this. You can take a look at the attached screen shot.

Hope this helps.

I fixed it in Ultiboard by adding the components code in the name of the component in the ulltiboard database.
