if its a component from the master database, you can not edit it. you can copy it from the master to the user and then have your way with it.

I think the kittmaster has hit the nail on the head.  You cannot change the properties of a component held in the master database. Therefore the first thing you must do is save the component into the User (or corporate) databases.  But, if you are quite new to Multisim, you might want some more details on how to use the bespoke databases.

-              Place the component you wish to edit on to the multisim sheet.

-              Right click component, and select save component to DB.

-              Select a Database, Group and Family

Now, to edit the symbol. Place the component from the user (or corporate) database on to your multisim sheet. Right click the component and select properties. From the “value” tab, click the “edit component in DB”. Within the next popup box, you can select edit from the symbol tab. This edit can then be saved not just for that single component but for that entry in the user database, which obviously means that you can use the edited component again and again.

I hope this is some use to you Mick
