HI all.
Id like to know which transfomer i need to get 15 V AC on the output side when 120 V ac for the input side.
I ask this because in a series of labs we are doing, the professor is having us use the 15v transformers that are in the class room cabinets so the data matches up.
Now my problem is as stated above, which transformer do i use in multisim that will create the desired effect? If no one is found, how do i change the transformer perameters to match what i need?
Thanks all.

Hello,
What is your Multisim version? In version 13 you can use the 1P1S configurable transformer (Basic Group, TRANSFORMER Family). Double-cllick the transformer to configure its parameters. Basically you want to edit the number of turns. In this case you have 120/15=8, so you need a ratio of 8:1.
Hope this helps.

This does help alot thanks,
Now i need to have an 8:1 transformer that also has a center tap so i can do full wave recitifiers.
Also where do i find the transformer that you refer to in the reply?

In version 12 and 13 you can find this transformer in the Basic Group, TRANSFORMER Family. For a tapped transformer you can use the 1P2S component and connect the appropriate windings as shown below:Best,

Thanks for the help.
Still having trouble finding this specific transformer. Its not on the list of available transformers for my program.
So how do i get this particular transformer added to my multisim program?

What is your Multisim version (12, 13) and Edition (Student, Education, etc)? You can find this information in the Help>>About Multisim menu.

The transformers I recommended you before are only available in version 12 and 13.
In version 11 there is also a TRANSFORMER Family in the Basic Group, however those transformers cannot be customized. Best recommendation is to go to the BASIC_VIRTUAL Family and use the TS_VIRTUAL transformer. It has a center tap and the primary to secondary turns ratio can be configured.
