Basically, if you want more than raw access to the BT device, you'll need to rebuild the kernel to enable the portions of the bluetooth protocol within the kernel. Depending on what you wanted to do with bluetooth, that may be enough. Otherwise, don the waders, it's kernel-buildn' time
