Remember Numlock state on startup

Hello,

I'm having an issue where the numlock state is not retained after restarting a PXI or cRIO running Linux RT. I've set the setting "Restore num lock state on startup" in the keyboard settings but this does not work at all.

Is there another way to keep numlock enabled every time the system reboots?
