NI Package Manager 2022 Q4 released!

NI has released Package Manager 2022 Q4 this week!

Notable features and behavior changes include:

  • The default behavior of the nipkg.exe CLI "repair" command reinstalls the specified packages and all its dependencies.  The command now supports the "--exclude-dependencies" option to support reinstalling only the specified packages.

  • Package Manager keeps a copy of installed package files in its "cache" directory (C:\ProgramData\National Instruments\NI Package Manager\Packages) to support creating custom feeds and installers, and for performing package repair operations. Package Manager now properly removed packages from the directory when uninstalled. Before this change, NIPM never removed uninstalled and upgraded packages from the cache, which might consist of an increasing amount of hard drive space.

  • The Package Manager status bar for the Installed, Updates, and Packages tabs now display the number of selected packages. In addition, Package Manager will now perform install, repair and uninstall operations on all selected packages, including selected packages that are not listed due to filtering, search, enabling Products Only, or disabling the "show hidden packages" setting.

Refer to the NI Package Manager Release Notes and Manual pages for additional information.
