NI Package Manager Installation Error - DotnetClientPackageManagerNotInstalledError

Hello All,

while trying to install NIPM, I encountered this error "DotnetClientPackageManagerNotInstalledError".

I have tried to install different Dot Net packages but could not get the NIPM to install.

Does anyone have an idea what could be the problem?

System = Windows 10 Pro

Type = x64

Thanks

Which installer are you trying to run? Can you provide a link?

Also, can you provide the specific build of Windows 10 that you are using? I'm specifically interested in the 4-digit number. You can get this by opening up a command prompt and entering "winver.exe".

Hello GreyGrey,

I tried the following packages

1. NIPackageManager18.0.2.exe

2. NIPackageManager19.0.exe -

I don't have the links now. I will check my browser history later and paste the links on the post.

The win version is 1803, see attachment.

Thanks

Regards

I also have Windows 10 1803 installed and I was able to run the exe downloaded from this link. Make sure that 19.0 and 64-bit are selected before downloading. Give that one a try and let me know if you run into the same error.

Can you share what versions of the .NET Framework you have installed? I created the screenshot below by going to "Add or remove programs" and searching for ".net framework":

I tried installing the same version of the .NET framework as you but can't seem to reproduce the behavior that you are seeing. Have you tried installing to other machines? Is this just machine specific or does it reproduce on multiple machines? Do you know if you have any special (or non-special) anti-virus or other security software that could be stopping items from executing?

It's probably worth getting in contact with support to troubleshoot this further as more complex troubleshooting tasks may be necessary to get to the bottom of this.

I didn't try on other machines. I don't know of any special security software that stops it from executing.

I will get in touch with NI support and my IT dept. to see what they can come up with.

Thanks
